The township has a total area of 89.37 square miles (231.47 km2), of which 86.42 square miles (223.83 km2) is land and 2.95 square miles (7.6 km2) (3.30%) is water. A large portion of the township is within the Ottawa National Forest.

Welcome Supervisor Nikki Laitala and trustee Kris Pelkola

Congratulations to our new Supervisor,  Nikki Laitala, and new trustee, Kris Pelkola.   Nikki grew up here, graduated from Michigan Tech, enjoying a career in engineering before moving back to Trout Creek.  Kris is a lifelong resident of our area, a 21 year Settler's Co-op employee & enjoys the outdoors with his dogs, Ace & Bear.

Welcome back to our Clerk, Wade Boan, Treasurer Melanie Pelkola and Trustee Paul Besonen. We welcome Stacey Pizardi who has been appointed to the Planning Commission and the Board of Review.  

Thank you to Joe O'Sullivan, our outgoing supervisor and Fred Johnson, outgoing trustee. Thank you, we appreciate your dedication and expertise.

Water & Sewer Payment Policy Reminder

Please be aware that the Township has a strict payment policy for water and sewer. Payments are due by the first of each month. Late fee and shut off warning for first offense. Must be paid in full by the due date (end of the month) or your water will be turned off with a $75 turn on fee.

Remember, there is a $20 fee each time a resident requests that their water be turned on or off.
